Hello All --

Well another winter is almost over and 368 Linwood is still under renovation! There has been significant progress on the house in the last few months (even though it may not look like it) which is good news.

The major structural issues have been fixed, including some new beams and ceiling entrances.

Plumbing pike is being installed throughout the month of march - sprinklers and electrical to come next.

The HVAC system is almost complete. Thanks to our great connection at Niagara Frontier Custom Fabrication http://www.nfcf.net

The goal is to start putting the dry wall up by the end of March

Thanks for checking in!!

Winter Time

I checked out the house while I was home for Christmas this December. The paint is definitely giving the place a little more lively-ness.  Inside there is a new staircase down to the basement level and a temporary heating system has been installed. A few structural repairs are taking place at the moment - beam support. Here's a picture of the inside when I was visiting.  As you can see lots of work to go.

Here is a picture of the front, looks ready for Christmas!

The house is being painted at last (after some amazing carpentry work on the exterior) the green looks great! The red will pry be a little darker :)

Historical Wallpaper

Snapped this shot last time I was at the house, a tiny bit of old wallpaper

House Photo + Carriage House

Here's a photo of the house (spring 2012) before renovation started. We have a long way to go :)

The house is three stories with a separate carriage house behind it.

The Beginning

In December of 2011 my father, Tim George came across 368 Linwood Drive. Anxious for a "project" he purchased the historical home and began the renovation process. Born in Clarence NY, Tim has recently finished the renovation of 760 Northland Ave. which now houses the corporation Niagara Frontier Custom Fabrication, a custom sheet-metal company. While he has spent much of his life working in the contracting business this will be his first historical mansion and he is excited to be part of the restoration of downtown Buffalo.

We hope to share the process of restoring the home on this blog and encourage comments and feedback, and of course the best way to check on progress is to drive by and check it out!
